Default Recommissioning a 75

My 2005 diesel has been in my garage for 6 years! Was tip top condition but obviously not turned a wheel since. SORNed since 2015. Any recommendations for a Hampshire Rover specialist who could tow truck her away and recommission/MOT her or if beyond economic recommissioning would be able to break for spares etc.?

Silverlake will take it for spares or to crush. There is a place in Totton that may also take it to crush.

I'd try starting it and see if you can drive it forwards and backwards before spending any money on it.
Not sure if the fuel and filter will need to be replaced first.
Try viking Kia in West end I have a feeling they may have been Rover dealers, no idea if the mechanics are still there.
If you are going to send it for crushing how about putting it if the free section and give it to a member of this forum?

I had a 1.8 that been off the road for nigh on two years. Asked my mechanic mate's about getting it back on the road, his advice was put a new battery in it and see what happens, started 2nd turn of the key. Sailed through a MOT without any problems.

If it still starts why not just book it in for an mot and see how you go on? When i have had them stood for a while then try and move them the first thing that normally happens is a front spring breaks, But if it starts then move it backwards and forwards and turn steering lock to lock a few times if all seems ok take it for a test
