I think you should be looking for a 22mm pipe somewhere in your house. Don't think you will be coming off the main supply directly to a 15mm pipe.

The stops do get put in awkward places, but not improved by additions and extensions, though people seldom instal a new valve.
One of mine that would not budge was not helped by plaster applied afterwards. |

Yes it can be inconvenient if you need to use it in the middle of the night and it’s raining, but how many of us regularly use the shut off valve in the house to ensure it will still turn? It the water company’s valve and if it breaks its their problem to fix it. |

You could try looking at Local Land & Utility Survey companies to see if they would do a GPR trace? They might be able to do it in passing if its a simple one to do?
I have a practice but I'm too far from Southampton to help. Closest people i know down that way are Macleod Simmonds in Chichester. |

You could always hire a set, ask nicely if they'll do a day rate? https://www.zenithsurvey.co.uk/produ...ng-radar-hire/ |

Gate valves over time always seem to enjoy seizing up.---Avoid them like the plague.
