askMID just reports back the reg number and Rover 75. No other details, nor my name or my wife's, who's also covered on the policy as the only other named driver. So if she's driving and gets stopped how do the police know that the person driving is covered, unless they get to see more details from the database than the askMID screen shows?
Askmid only shows basic details. Police have access to insurance details via the Police National Computer that will instantly show the insurance policy held on the car including any named drivers.

Hope this helps......

I thought i would push this up the line, mainly because a lot of us have not been using our cars as much over the last 18 months, some may have even had them of the road and decided to get them back on the road.

This will help you check your car and others if you had an accident etc to see if they are on the MID

Under the terms of my motor trade policy I have to enter all or any vehicles myself on the MID.
Not a problem as it takes just a few minutes and as my vehicles automatically renew on their VED when due, they must be insured or I would be notified.
