The heated front seats were not standard on the Connoisseur and Contemporary.

Leather heated seats were standard on the Connoisseur SE and Contemporary SE.

Towards the end of production at Longbridge all the 75 models were upgraded on spec.

When first introduced in January 2004 the Connoisseur was a much lower spec. than the mk1. 75 Connoisseur.

Painted door mirrors.
No foglamps.
Axis cloth seats.

However, the Connoisseur did have.
16" 7 spoke alloys.

those are the dogs wotsits my wife would kill for cream leather so be warned......we have black leather heated but for some reason not electric (although that's not the end of the world) prefer this as the patterned pvc/cloth looks a bit 80s (on s1s) and the alcantara does get rather bobbly. looks rather as if your cream leather is proper full leather our black 'leather' has a lot of vinyl in the mix good old project drive

Apologies for re-raising such an old thread,

Does this mean facelift Contemporary equals pre-facelift Connosseiur?

Thank you.

In a word no, not the uk models anyway the Contemporary models were different in that they have leather ZT type seats and dark oak dash as above.

But Connie Mk1 models sold on the continent were named Contemporary models eg Belgium

I had an 02 that was an inport from Belgium and the original documentation described it as Contemporary although it was identical to Uk Connie spec

Well having had a club se cdti tourer mk1, contemporary se cdti auto mk2, then back to a connoisseur se cdti auto mk1, out of the three, I prefer the connie.

Yes the black oak and black leather was nice (except hot sunny day OUCH) but it didn't feel premium compared to the connie.

Obviously, thats just my opinion and other people will prefer the all black look.

The Contemporary was a nice combination of ZT sportiness and 75 comfort.
With a 2.5 V6 lump and an auto box it was a hoot to drive and chuckable into corners.

That is except for the Contemporary SE diesel, which took some winding up to speed. That is until the 160 mod came out, now it picks up its skirts and motors

The black leather, carpets and dash, make the cabin very dark at night. During a hot day when parked, the seats can become very hot when parked - the 'global open' mod for the windows and roof, are essential before you can get in.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
