Temp gauge issue
Hi everyone, following on from my previous post regarding my temperature gauge issue I have now received one of those inline thermostat kits from dmgrs to fit. However I have now noticed that somewhere along the line previous owner/ owner's have filled the coolant system with plain water. So can I just remove the bottom hose from the rad and then refill with anti freeze to the required level in the header tank, oh and I must get a workshop manual thanks as always

Ideally you should drain all the water including the engine drain plugs and refill with a percentage mix of coolant according to climate (here 50%). I've removed the bottom hose from a V6 and not very much came out until I "helped it" with compressed air.
Workshop manual? Here: https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...light=rave+pdf post 8. Regards |

Do not drain any coolant yet as the inline stat you have purchased will not work on a V6 petrol engine car which you seem to have from your profile. If you are going to do a full coolant change then yes remove the drain plug as well as the bottom hose, raise the coolant tank as high as you can when re-filling.
