Internal button to release rear boot lid not working as it should
Very recently, the rear boot lid opens when it feels like doing so. I depress the push button from the inside (near the foot well area) and it makes a clicking/ whirring noise, sometimes only.
Now more often than not it doesn't make a noise and I have to put the key into the lock ( near the 75 badge) to open the boot lid from the outside. How can I get it to work by depressing the button ( internally), please? I've been advised to play around with the black rubber protrusions in the rear boot lid. I have and so far no luck. |

Sounds more electrical than a problem with the boot lid itself, either the button or the lock, probably the electrical release on the lock. Could have a run to Herne Bay and see Mickyboy.

the little plug behind the switch sometimes can be disconnected. this usually happens when someone has disturbed the plastic surround panel. has anyone been in there for bonnet cable or removed trim etc in that area ? its easy to remove so have a look in there. it should make a click when pressed even if no "machine gunning " noise occurs.

I'm not aware the garage went into that area. They did however replace the cable (in the area) where the drivers door handle is . Perhaps I should go to the garage and ask them to have a look as I wouldn't be capable of doing it myself. |
