Hello everyone

I need to replace my crank pulley on my cdti

some remarks:
- I replaced all the timing belts and tensioner 10k miles ago (maybe it should be better to change the pulley that time, by I am not an expert, and the mechanic should have advised me, but he did not)

some questions:

1) the code number LGH100750?

2) any suggestion about brand?
I found ijs at 40£

3) if I change the pulley I need to change the timing belt?

4) estimated cost for labour by mechanic?

Hi

The part number is correct, but buy a Corteco pulley, cheaper ones fail after a few thousand miles.

A good garage should be able to change the pulley in less than an hour.

You belts will be fine, no need to renew them unless they are damaged.

in Italy Corteco is very difficult to be found. I could buy from uk but is a mess with duties ecc ecc.....

dayco is a good brand?

do I need the "Crankshaft Timing Sprocket Lower"?

You can renew the bolt if you prefer, it does no harm to reuse the old bolt and washer as long as they are ok.

You just need the pulley, nothing else.

Dayco are a good brand if you cannot get a corteco pulley.

I found a corteco from germany

but I am not able to udnerstand if the pulley for CDT is the same of CDTI

because the code number is the same but in the compatibility list it says only CDT model.

This is the proper tool to lock the crank pulley.

Good socket and good bar, with added steel tube.

This what happened to a local owners car when he used a 3/4 inch buzz gun, to remove and refit the crank pulley on his car it only got 100 yards down the road and cut.

We hooked it up to T4 changed lots of items crack shaft sensor, etc also spoke to Brian (Marina) explaining what T4 was say etc then said the only thing that was changed was the pulley using a buz gun.

He said he had only seen this once before it some how throws the timing chain out, which seized up the engine.

The car had to have a replacement engine, i had the old engine to strip down and find what really went wrong photos below.

So you do need to be careful of using guns, it can happen.
