Just bought a set of their (Halfords) Brilliance range. Not sure if they are 120% brighter but at BOGOF better than standard.

No probs fitting either of them, took about 10mins including trying to get the damn things out of the packet. Halfords are I think charging £6ish.

Default I still don't know which reference have my bulbs!

Hi,

I've read considerably about lights but I still didn't see a post where I can know which bulbs I have in my car. So I have a 75 saloon from 2004, so the face lifted model, with original xenon bulbs/ headlights. I want to substitute them since they are already a bit tired. I'm thinking in buying Philips or Osram xenon because they seem to be the best ones. Can you help me with the exact reference to buy. Thanks.

Do you actually have Xenon headlamps?

They should have the wording "Xenon Technology" visible through the outer plastic lens?

Also do you have the headlight height adjuster on the dash ?

If you have factory xenons, ie with a silver box on the back of the light, you need D2S burners https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/collections/...aces-xbi000040
If you have halogen projector lights, ie just a rubber cover on the back, you need H7 dipped beam bulbs

The latter were an optional extra, for your car, and the way to check is easy:

1) Look at the headlamp lens, if it has the words "Xenon Technology" written inside the glass then they are True Gas Discharge HID Xenon Headlamps, the non Xenon Projector type look exactly the same, but no writing.

Additionally, take a look inside at your Light Switch Module Switchpack.

If your car has True Xenon Headlamps, you won't have a dial to the right for manual leveling. Part of the spec of the Xenon HID's is that they are self leveling.

If however your switchpack does have a knob to manually adjust the headlamp level like this picture, then you only have standard Halogen headlamps (which may or may not have Projector lenses that conatin Blue Vision H7 bulbs).

Hope that helps

Bit of a thread ressurection...

Recently bought a CDTi tourer (2005) and bit unsure of the lights.
The headlight housing has the Xenon Technology lettering BUT my LSM has the headlight levelling dial. I struggle to post pictures up to the forum and can only say the rear of the headlight - projector side - has no rubber cap.
As I'm not aware of T4 local to me I connected TOAF to get an idea of the condition of the car and the LSM is not original...

The dipped beam works but is very poor. Can anybody explain the best way to proceed please- thanks in advance.

EDIT 23/12/21 - And started (and followed up in) a new thread https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?t=315493

Sounds like you have Xenons. Someone may have retrofitted them in the past. (Like I have done myself).
I find the dipped beams aren’t brilliant, even on Xenons, but if they’re really poor, you probably need new burners.
Dmgrs has some

They are beam deflectors for driving a left hand drive car in the UK. Peel them off and you will have left hand drive lights again 😎
