I can't shed any real light on the reliability, other than what I have heard which is normally pretty good, however I have driven a few in auto format and they drive superbly In 2.5 v6 format. Having a few diesel auto versions I can say the 2.5 V6 kicks down better and Pull away is much quicker (my opinion) fuel and tax costs are the reason I don't own one myself.

Well I have a 51 plate 75 cdt I've now had 11 years which has failed to proceed once in all that time, and treated myself to a V6 190 11 months ago, up to now apart from the usual vis motor trouble and stat leaking (all known and relatively cheap repairs) it's running rather well

Oh, and as far as I'm concerned it goes like Billy-o, sounds good as well, I had a cat-back exhaust fitted, it lets out the burble of the V6 a bit more than the standard exhaust

Ive had 2 cdt 75's 1 was terrible but other was a delight and very nippy, a 1.8t that i was lied to about and self destructed after 8miles then my current 2.5v6 ZT which i love and while its currently off the road im dieing to get it back lol, the good cdt 75 had front lower arms and bushes changed, drop links, upper mount bearings, brakes and front fan all by me but still considered it a good car, current ZT needed front fan, wheel bearing, clutch needed bled and has rear brakes to fut but i dont hold that against the car at all

I was in love with my diesel Connie until I took a ride in a fellow members 2.5 - that was that! I now have a V6 Contemporary. The sound alone is worth a thousand words.
I think the diesel was a really strong car, and may even have been the better built engine, but my heart told me what it wanted, and I complied. Depends really on your budget for fuel and tax, I guess. My 2.5 is cheaper to insure than the derv, no idea why!? |

I have two 2.5 v6 177bhp auto .
on both had to do the steering pump and vis motors . on one of them thermostat was changed . on my old v6 had a cam shaft snap but we think it was due to the oil going off . oil went very thick. I drove both in rush hour traffic so stop stating all the time and sitting in traffic .I get around 23 to 25 mpg. on a run I have up to 44 mpg . as with most cars service is the key. oil, oil filter, cam belts, gear box oil. do I like driving it against my old 1.8 yes by a long way. would I have another hell yes . but I only do 20 mils a day so the mpg is not to much of a problem. |

Just remember that any late model V6's registered after March 06 cost £500 per year for road tax. I only found out the hard way, after agreeing to buy and signing the paperwork.
