Paint bubbles on boot??!!
Just washed my 75 today and found a huge streak of paint bubbling on the boot lid middle, ranging from tiny to quite large. Definitely wasn't there a few weeks ago when I washed it.
Is this a common thing on 75 s?!! |

Yes it's copperleaf. I've not had any cover on it. Why does it happen any ideas?
Really bizarre, nothing there then all of a sudden loads. I thought someone had sprayed something on the car at first, but that would take the top layer off eh? this is bubbling under the paint, I suppose it's a complete strip down then? |

A good sprayer might be able to re lacquer it, depends on the amount of damage to the base coat.

Surely it's coming from underneath the paint rather than on top (the lacquer?)

It sounds like lacquer peel, but without photos it's hard to say - it could also be micro blistering under the base coat.
Any chance you could post up some piccies? Cliff

Bird droppings have damaged the lacquer on my Copperleaf boot lid, and I have had to respray the front bumper due to lacquer peel, and the whole car has been resprayed professionally under a previous owner. Is there something about Copperleaf that gives poor adhesion? (I have had this problem on a silver Audi,, my 1991 Mitsubishi is fading like an old Ford on upper surfaces, but my 2003 Metallic blue Renault has no such problem.)

Not sure how to upload pics as it's asking for a web link?
I don't think it's the lacquer, I've got lacquer peel on the bumper and doesn't look the same. |
