Two things:

Why leave it until Friday? Something expected then? If it's needed, why not now.

ANPR cameras all along the border so they know which cars/lorries registered in England? I suppose DVLA being located where it is is not in the least bit being cynical.

Lockdowns don't work and getting some people to social distance is near impossible
The only way this is going is if a vaccination is made available.
But that isn't happening any day soon.
