Rover 75 with 3k on clock !!
Hi all.
I frequently view Matthewsons classic car auction catalogue for each sale up in Pickering, N Yorks. See the occasional 75/ZT which are usually "a bit tired" overall. But spotted this example due to go through there auction a week on Sat. 2005 Green 75 SE CDTi with 3,347 miles on the clock !! Guide is £5-7k which is too steep for me, but as they say "find another like it". The MOT history backs up the 3k mileage claim. https://mathewsons.co.uk/auctions/au...ver-75-se-cdti |

I did consider it, but far too good for every day use.

I just wonder how come people buy vehicles and then not use them.
I don't use mine much but it has averaged more miles then the OP's example per year. One return trip to my daughters is more then that cars average mileage. macafee2 |

Circumstances sadly, I know of a couple of vehicles and a moped that were bought and the buyer died or became very unwell within a very short period of the purchase. One a Jag was a retirement purchase and the husband died within a couple of months, the wife kept it for sentimental reasons for about 10 years, when she was eventually talked into selling it there was just over 1000 miles on the clock. The moped was bought by a lady to commute to her new job, after a few weeks she was diagnosed with cancer and never used it again, it stayed in the corner of the shed for 30 years and a local dealer bought it with 55 miles on the clock.

Can't agree with this, I'm afraid. I love seeing cars being used, after all that's what they were designed to use.
I've just spent a considerable sum of money purchasing a 75 with 11,000 miles on the clock. It absolutely will be pampered - it's already booked in for a full paint correction / detail & underside protection - but it will get used. I was 9 years old when the 75 was launched, and from that moment on, they're all I wanted to own. Passing up the chance to own, and drive, a like-new example wouldn't be possible for me. |
