Default LUK Repset Clutch Slave Advice Please.

My Tourer needs a new clutch and today I've bought an LUK Repset kit (cover, plate and slave cylinder). A very quick inspection inside the cardboard box earlier showed the new concentric slave has a thin red plastic cage fitted to it.

Does anyone know if this is just to keep the cylinder together whilst in the box and should be completely removed before fitting inside the bellhousing, or does it stay permanently attached to the cylinder with the 'arms' of the cage breaking upon initial application of the clutch pedal, once the whole lot is all bolted back together ?

(I didn't get chance to look for any detailed instructions, so will apologise in advance if I find them buried in the bottom of the box....)

Many thanks in advance

Just to hold it together.---Also to remind you not to try the clutch until it's all back together.--( Gearbox to engine. )
