Default spongey brakes!!

Bought my 75 a few months ago and the brakes are spongey.

So, i have changed the pads and discs front and rear, as they were all low and rusty, but that never improved the braking.

Went to bleed the brakes but thought i would have the fluid changed and bled at same time so as to cross it off the service list!! That never improved the braking either.

I am going to bleed the brakes one more time, as there are no leaks from calipers and dont have to top up at all, can't see there being any issues losing fluid.

Not sure if there is anything else, maybe the abs?

One other thing, the brake pedal squeaks when pressed, did try spraying around and behind the pedal but no change,

Steve.

Are you bleeding the brakes in the correct order? I dont know what the order is but there is an order.

Would brake rubber hoses expanding cause spongy brakes?
Would it be worth bleeding with T4 assistance to open the ABS? modulator.

Air still in the system?

The brakes were bled from; rear passenger to front drivers side as per haynes etc., will bleed them again just in case.

Did read somewhere about the abs and putting on t4, but the only one near me is a xpart garage.

To bleed the brakes properly it needs to be done on a T4

I had to bleed mine through a few times after replacing all the brake lines and hoses. Maybe put a litre through in total after bleeding for the first time, was done with a pressure bleeder. A few tiny bubbles filtered through, off side rear was the worst.

As Dave Linc says A T4 is required to fully bleed the brakes
From experience I have always successfully bled the brakes when replacing brake pipes without a T4 but have always ensured that that I have maintained fluid in the system passed the ABS unit ! I usually let gravity initially feed the system before bleeding via pressing the pedal and locking off at full stroke . I changed rear brake pipes on a car last week this way and car passed its MOT with good brake efficiency and a solid pedal . Once air is in the ABS unit a T4 will be essential to fully bleed the brakes

Will bleed them again this week, with the aid of member championdaddy (paul).

Try this...

NSR - clamp flexible pipe - still spongy? No - problem identified, yes - move on.
OSR - clamp flexible pipe - still spongy? No - problem identified, yes - move on.
NSF - clamp flexible pipe - still spongy? No - problem identified, yes - move on.
OSF - clamp flexible pipe - still spongy? No - problem identified, yes - move on.

With all pipes clamped and still spongy, replace master cylinder.
