Default HELP: changing headlamp bulb

Hi
I have had my car almost 19 years and think it's beaten me this time. I fitted new projector headlamps 2 year ago and it's the first time I've had to fit a new headlamp bulb. After almost 1.5 hr I still haven't managed to change it. My right hand is torn to shreds and I still have no headlamp bulb!! Any advice appreciated - can't be that difficult but I'm finding it so!

If it's the passenger bulb it may help moving the fuse box to give you a bit more room.
If it's the drivers side take out the spout of the water bottle, looking from the top twist it 90 degrees to the left then lever it out with a screw driver from the side via the hatch in the wheel arch. When replacing it put a smear of washing up liquid on the rubber rings.
These methods gave me more room to get my sausage fingers in.
Don't forget the square cutout on the bulb goes at 12 o' clock

Rob save your self any further time and sore hands, remove the front bumper top bolts and the two under wing bolts pop bumper off and hold down while you remove the headlight bolts four of them light will come forward and you can change the bulb.

Total time in all should be no longer than 30 minutes.

Default headlamp bulb

Thanks Arctic. In hindsight it is easier . However, by moving fuse box I managed it. Anyone with fat fingers - this is the way to do it! A little grease on the lugs of the holder also works. Make sure the bulb is seated correctly in the holder- mine wasn't. No more than 5 minutes if you do it this way.
Thanks all

For anyone who has yet to tackle the Mk2 headlamp bulbs.

The main beam bulb (H9) fastens the same way except the bulb has a 90 degree connection:

And the bayonet can be very tight.

I just take the bumper off. Easy that way.
