Default Random Electrics

After driving the 75 home tonight, I parked up and after 15 mins my daughter noticed all indicators had begun to flash and the windscreen wipers had started to wipe, even when turned to the off position.

Checked ECU - dry as a bone.

Battery now disconnected and much head scratching.

Hi Trikey. None of the above. The car is a poverty (Classic) spec.

This happened to me when a mouse had chewed through the harness underneath the ECU

Do I remember correctly that the FBH can cause bizarre electrical issues?

Paul, is your car fitted with a fuel burning heater?

I can't now lock the car on the remote. The red alarm light on the dash flashes but the wipers stop once I fire the engine.

Check the wiring plug to the wiper motor it's self spray with contact cleaner and fit and remove a few times, also check the LSM is not wet, does it look like it's still switched on even though it's off, something as got wet ? pull the fuse in the engine bay to stop the wipers, at least you can then connect the battery back up and lock the car.

Thanks Trikey.

Tried that. OK for 5 mins then the wipers start wiping again!
