John Woods Motorcare may be able to help, they do a lot of work on classics as well as being a modern MG specialists. When ever I visit, there's always a few K series being worked on and a few MG 6s outside so they should know whats what.
You could have a nice holiday in north wales too, it's not a bad place to visit.

It took a fair bit of time, but I managed to get Mike Stafford on the phone. We discussed the options to swap as many parts from the N-series onto the K-series. With the engine being about 900 gbp, and a fair few days of labour. (also new belts, waterpump, headgasket and replacing the clutch). Would probably end up at about 2400 gbp in total.
Doing just the repairs (belts, gasket, clutch) without swapping over the N-series parts, it would be fair to 1300 to 1800 gbp. Still cheaper then getting it done over here. Even when you take into account the ferry and hotel. But I'll have to think about what I am going to do. I kinda hoped it would turn out a little bit cheaper.
