MG ZT 180 Auto Poor Fuel Economy
I have an MG ZT 180 Auto.
I have had new VIS fitted and the car checked if it is running rich and it is not. I live in london and do mainly very short journeys average 2 - 5 miles. I am only getting 12.4 mpg and been told that is about right because the car is automatic and for most of my journeys the car is running on choke especially in this cold weather. Is this correct or should I be checking something else? |

Mine does around 18 mpg running locally - 6 mile round trips in winter - but only about 28 on a run, which I gather is on the low side, but then I do drive it as a sports saloon which is what it is!

If you're only doing short journeys in the cold, I would have thought that it sounds about right, the 180 was never sold as being economical on short urban journeys.
