Default Reset Sat Nav Vehicle position?

Hi Guys,

Finally got my ZTT back after nearly 3 weeks following a collision with a kerb at high speed.

The only problem now is the Sat Nav - as the car has been on a couple of recovery trucks.

I have attempted to reset using the vehicle positioing and crossing the junction option - but the nav is still showing the previous road I was on, prior to turning!

What is the correct process for resetting? What is menat when you are crossing the junction? are you merely passing by or turning into that junction?
Regards

Colin

Moved to ICE Forum

Colin two possibilities first is wait it can take a while, deleting all previous destinations in the address book and doing a 15 to 20 mile drive seems to speed it up.

Second possibility the impact has damaged the gyro or wheel sensors but gyro should only take over if satellite signal is lost

Stick it in to service mode select set then push and hold the menu button
choose telemetric setting, number of satellites shoud be > 3
go for a drive, wheel sensor info should match speed in metres per second

report back

Thanks Keith,

I will do that and report back!

What is odd is that - it nearly was locating my position ( eg within 1/4 mile) but not always in the right direction - so it might say I was on the correct road but then would loose mypoistion when I turned off.

Hi Keith,
after driving around for about half an hour without joy, despite attempting several manual 'crossing the junction' inputs - the Sat Nav is showing car travelling in the opposite direction.

I then put the vehicle in service mode:
Do I need to drive about a bit before using the service mode as the number of satellites was zero!? direction of travel seemed ok with the Gyro?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Colin

Ah well thats your problem, if no satellite are being shown then it will never work properly, you need to make sure the little aerial lead is connected to the back of the unit (back right looking from the front)

Being a Tourer you should be able to check it without taking the unit out.

Cheers Keith,

Just checked and it was not connected! looks like it used to be connected with black tape - is this normal?

The connection looked pretty shoddy actually - do you have any pics how it should look?

Thanks again
