my first insurance a couple of years ago was £2700 cash from diamond with zero no claims discount.
Following year it went to £2200 cash from diamond with 1 year no claims. Then £1700 cash from diamond with 2 years so went to tesco Now £800 from them |

Didn't Adrian Flux go bust recently? Or am I getting confused with another independent. Mine is due next month, £200 last year at Tesco bank.
First new quote is £240. I'll go with whoever comes out cheapest on several comparison sites. |

Insurance is one of the few areas where experience and wisdom still provides positive benefits. All my cars cost less than £190 each to insure. My most powerful car costs slightly under £130 with a reputable bank - as reputable as a bank can be. Last edited by MSS; 24th December 2016 at 07:57.. |

Oh - yes. Insurance companies who "Don't appear on comparison sites due as they want to be able to give the best prices".
I'm sure somebody's had a good deal from them, but any time I've bothered to fight my way through giving my shoe size and DNA profile to these NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-s they've never come within £500 of the prices I get from the ones who are actually on the comparison sites. What I'd do for an app - desktop or web - which takes all details you are likely to need to submit *once* and then sits and hammers at all sites - price comparison/screen scraper/broker/Arseholes-who-are-above-comparisons and just gives me the best price available online. Of course, that would actually mean the industry being vaguely accountable to customers, and we can't have that, can we? And then there's the idiots (underwriters in this case) who rather than do *any* pushback will authorise payouts for zero-damage incidents - in this case a less than walking speed impact between a Jag XF and a 15 year old Zafira - no paint disturbed, no creases in the plastic, no damage of any form, and still turned into a £1600 payout for replacement of the Zafira front bumper, respray and whotnot, and another £1600 in car hire for the Zafira owner. £3200 for an impact that would have been worse if it was a shopping trolley doing the impact. |

Insurance is robbery without the violence. Mine is due February so will wait and see what kind of 'hold up' I get.
