Don't want to make this about me...or any of our generation. There are plenty on here who had had amazing cars over the years, either built, bought or both. So I'm simply trying to make a point that with hard work and passion almost anything is possible.

From what we've seen, the young lad has access to plenty of good material - if he plans accordingly by the time he's old enough to drive on our roads he could have a car to be proud of.

Better still, in this modern age, he has access to all the info he needs and, most likely, local helping hands if he prove he's worth it.

I am amazed that someone has a great interest in these cars at your age - in a good way, please note! I'd just ignore those who 'diss' you, and concentrate on those who treat you OK. Most groups have the same mixture of members - seems to be the way of the world. Were you asking after stainless steel exhausts? If so, I can really recommend them as a cost effective solution, apart from the possibility of tuning the sound too. Best of luck! :-)

I sold it in 84 to finance our first house. I accepted £2,000 I think but had to give the guy £20 back as he didn't have a penny left for petrol home. in the pic below it's shown outside the ground floor flat where I lived in North London. I would run a 100 yard extension to my lock-up which my mum would unplug to let me know supper was ready

Many years later it reappeared at a show in a solid mid-blue with a Rover V8 and flip front. My MGB B front end with knock-on MGA wires and matching Jag rear were still present. I think it was then written off or whatever as the reg was showing on a BMW when the internet first made it possible to check such things.

I still have the original front number plate in bent black tin with the raised lettering, hanging in my garage.

Lovely looking car.

I always wanted to do that myself but never got around to it.

Back in the day I was a foot soldier for the Essex Popular Front....

My pop, as seen in Custom Car mag, is the 18th pic down and it's the one at the far end on the next picture next to my then g/f, now wife's Consul Capri. All literally a life time ago.
