Default m47 killer tenticles



The strands are made of black plastic, they completely clogged the oil pump pick up & killed the engine. Could it be something fell into the engine and got chewed up, maybe in the timing belt case and ended up in the sump.. When I remove the engine I will check for bits of missing plastic covers etc.

I suspect that fell in during an oil refill/top up. A bottle cap maybe?

Only thing that springs to my mind is cam chain tensioner ? Although I dont know what materials BMW used, I remember changing one a Yamaha XS 400.
