Heat shield is sheet aluminium. Can’t be too difficult to fabricate a couple of pieces to fit?

Update on this.
Garage have purchased some universal heat shield to fabricate into a section to line the part where it goes along the fuel tank. Hopefully it should be fitted today. As it's classed as a dangerous fault, the car is unsafe to drive and there is a possibility I'd get fined for having no MOT and driving a dangerous vehicle.(Regardless of the fact the old MOT doesn't expire for nearly a month) Its failed on section 6.1.3.e, this relates to the following :- 6.1.3 Fuel system You must check the fuel system on all vehicles with internal combustion engines and hydrogen fuel cells. e. Fire risk due to fuel tank shield or exhaust shield missing where fitted as original equipment Dangerous Up until two weeks ago they admitted if someone came in with a loose heatshield, if it wasn't a simple repair, they'd just been removing them.

I have fixed at least 6 of these heat shields over the last 18 months/2 years on Nano members cars, the main problem is the steel bolts used to hold them up have a chemical reaction with the alloy and it eats the alloy away round the fixing bolt area.
I had some old alloy sheet so I made up some larger washer from it this then can be bolted over the damaged area and it holds up the heat shield. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 I also had to remove an heat shield from another members car only last week, it had been crumpled up and was hanging on the exhaust under the fuel tank, it must have been hanging down when he went over something which crumpled it up, he as been advised to get a replacement asap.
