Default 75+ZT how rare ?

Ive noticed that on most 75/Zt/ZTT cars for sale they use the word RARE,but how rare are they realy ? You can find them on most internet sites , just tap in 75/ZT and you have a fare amount to chose from. So if you are a potential buyer try not to get sucked into panic buying , do your research, compare the ones that have caught your eye and if the one that you have been looking at gets sold dont worry there will be another one along in a minute, just like the busses.

Ordinary models aren't rare but there are a few special colours that are. There are less Cowley cars too but still plenty to choose from!

ZT190 SEs are rare as I discovered when I bought mine, and one of only 11 Firefrost saloons as well.

Didn't set out looking for a SE in particular, just had a spec in mind of bits that I wanted, saw this one though and I was sold on it.

I wanted a Mk2 so these are naturally rarer as well.

Very true

The Silvers & Golds do seem quite common place (not that they're not good cars)

It is the Monogram, & in particular the Chromactive(flip) colours that are the rarer colours.

The spec can, as a previous poster says have a bearing on rarity.

Still lots of 75/ZT's still about thankfully.

Regards

Paul

There were only 20 odd 2.5 Contemporary SEs in PBT like mine, yet I consider my white a rarer car. At the moment I think only us enthusiasts find any rare. To most they are a banger with the unfortunate luck to also have a Rover badge lol! One day their time will come, though!

My Tourer is rare (yes, it's just a Conny SE 75 with a 135 diesel in MBB), but it's ultra rare as it's mine

The word rare is added to most adverts to attract the buyers, I’ve never understood the ‘1 of 1’ thing myself, as yes, it might be a monogram with a special interior but is it really 1 of 1 when there are plenty of the same colour about?

My 75 is a rare 1 of 1. It has unique car park rashes that that benefit no other CDT in Starlight Silver.

I have to confess I think the rareness of our cars is a bit of a red herring in most cases.

My 75 Lagoon is one of only 6 Rover 75 saloons produced in Lagoon, so pretty rare. Add in the engine type, and it's one of only 2 ever made. The other one was a right hand drive for export, which makes mine the only left hand drive 2.0 V6 saloon ever made in Lagoon. A truly unique car, as rare as the most exotic classic. It must be worth millions .

Sadly for me, it doesn't quite work like that though . As part of the monogram programme, anyone could have ordered a Lagoon '75, but very few did when compared to, say, Chatsworth. Same with the engine type, although in fairness the 2.0 V6 was phased out early on so wasn't an option for a good part of the '75s life cycle. The harsh reality though, is that in many cases (but not all) the rare examples are rare because they weren't particularly popular when they where available new!

Having said all that, I still love my lagoon, and love the fact that it's rare* .

Cliff

*unpopular at time of manufacture

As far as I'm concerned I'd rather not have 'rare' to me that places an even greater obligation on the owner, wether it's as rare as rocking horse poo or as common as muck if you are happy with it does it matter?
