if our cars were brand new it may be a worrying trend - I see it as a positive plenty of Good folks willing to share their experience and wisdom or even just an opinion should we need it
I've tried looking online for some tech help for a friends Renault Laguna - with absolutely no results Paul. |

Although I'd owned a ZT for 12 years previously I only joined this forum when i bought my current ZT last year. I've certainly learned a lot of things that I didn't know previously about these cars, including all about sunroof drains... as I discovered a while back I had soggy carpets.
I've found the 'how to' forums very useful and have recently just changed the air con condenser, now if i'd followed the Haynes manual I wouldn't have fancied doing that myself but actually taking the front end of the car apart was not as daunting as I would have expected. I didn't have any bits left over afterwards either - and it didn't involve removing the radiator I'm a member on the Volvo forum and I've found the people on there also very useful and helpful when I had a few problems on the 740. Well, I think we can safely come to the conclusion that this is not a worrying trend at all, just a quality forum full of great information and helpful members!
I've spent time on many forums over the years and none of them have been a match for this one. It's also good to see that so many of the members are hands on and getting stuck in themselves. How good is that!!!

Years ago I was driving my cdt and it just conked out, I just happened to look down and see the fuel guage was just a shade under a quarter full, because of the previously read infromation on here I strongly suspected a failed in tank pump, after adding a couple of gallons of diesel off I went again, then also using the information in the 'how to' section I replaced the in tank pump and it's been right ever since.

This forum is great because people care about the cars and offer advice and help for free, some of the members who regularly visit the site like MarinaBrian have probably saved people more cash than we can really value, I for one enjoy helping other members keep their cars running and helping to save them expensive garage bills, the technical treads are often the most interesting type, as people often come back and report what has solved the problem that they were suffering from,
Mick
