I'd omitted to say that my 75 saloon is an auto.
Auto or manual: it makes a sensible difference...

I manage about 20 MPG but then my average MPH is about 18, mainly short runs on 20, 30 and 40 MPH roads.
But not bothered in the least, just enjoy the ride.

What you need is a 210BHP 1800T ZS

37 around the doors, and 45 on a run

I managed 'almost' 32 mpg on a trip from Hull to Edinburgh staying at 3,000 rpm when I could in my 190.

Hellfire! I can get 28-29 on a steady run with the 260.

45mpg in a 75 (ZT) 180 V6 2.5 auto?
But where lies the trick?
Going down with a good back wind?

I think it's the 'Unique' ratios in the 190 gearbox that do it, when I drove round Europe I was putting in about £70 a day.
