I don't recall that they are, however it's the external fitting where it attaches to the clutch pedal I was thinking of

Under the battery, if you look down there, you will find the bleed nipple for the clutch, on the end of a bit of pipe. The pipe is one of two which drop down into the engine/gearbox joint. The second pipe runs around to the master cylinder. Two spanners are needed, on the nipple.



That bleed nipple needs to be released by an assistant as the pedal is pressed, then closed before the pedal is allowed by up. Before that....



The cap needs to be removed from the master cylinder and a rubber diaphram lifted out, then fully topped up with DOT 4 fluid and kept topped up throughout the bleed operation. The cap can be tight, tap it loose with a length of wood and a hammer gently.



Getting fluid in is tricky because it is located awkwardly under the dash, behind the pedal. There is a removable panel above your toes and a second, narrow wide one just over the steering column. The usual way to get fluid in there, is using a syringe and a long bit of tube.



Put plenty of newspaper down under the pedals, to catch the spills.



So the sequence is, with it full..


1 Lift and press pedal down, have assistant open then close the bleed nipple.
2. Lift and press pedal down, have assistant open then close the bleed nipple.


Repeat for a maximum of 5 sessions, whilst keeping an eye on the level, until the pedal feels normal when pressed. If it runs low on fluid, you start again from the beginning.

Use a Gunsen Eezibleed - makes the job a lot easier. The hardest part with the Eezibleed is getting the cap to fit on the MC - make sure it is air tight by pressuring the system with the fluid bottle 'dry' before doing the proper bleed, otherwise you could have a foot well full of brake fluid (been there, done that !!.)

Been quoted 740 euros or £ 650 to supply and fit a luk 3 piece clutch kit.

Not sure what to do, the car was running ok other than a constant airbag light and low brake pad warning which was just the sensor falling off constantly(regular r75 stuff)

Should i fix or let it go. Missus wants to replace it with a Volvo xc60

I didnt. Its a 90mile journey to deliver car. Pity we werent closer in distance.

Its a longshot but ive just contacted mark. The distance could be the problem. Id like to keep car on the road tbh.
