Recently our lounge carpet had a coffee stain on it (my fault) and after using a Karcher Carpet cleaner apparently it was still visible, anyway the missus wanted to put down laminate flooring to which I disagreed.
She said inside the house is her domain, I get my say for the garage and garden.
So I upped the stakes and told the grand daughters Papa won’t be able to play anymore as Nanas putting down a hard wooden floor.
No way Nana so she relented and put a new carpet down and the girls are happy again.

So with yet another carpet I didn’t really need in the garage my son now has in his man cave a practically new carpet for his bikes to sit on, yes he’s quite a collection of them.

My garage base has sunk down slightly over the years and I ran a touch short of mix when laying it, so it has two problems...

1. It has a good level surface for 2/3 the length, then becomes rough and not quite finished at the back end.

2. The garden slopes slightly down towards in at the rear and just a few inches below the soil is clay. In heavy rain over a long period, the soil becomes water logged. If the rain persists, it can get into the garage floor, just enough to wet it. It happens maybe every couple of years, despite my adding extra drainage around the slab outside.

There is a cheap waterproof composite wood panel which I heard about, around 3/8" thick which should solve both problems - When I get a roundtuit. It might be a potential solution for the OP.

Too soft a surface makes trolley jack difficult to manoeuvrer.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
