You could always get a copy of the free diagnostic programme TOAF and see what that picks up. Covers everything and easy to use.

Currently working on an ABS issue with one of my rear wheels but now I've got the new backplates to do the job properly once and for all. (Fingers crossed / håll tummarna).

Good luck

Did you get the same number of pulses / volts changes on each wheel for a full revolution ? If one is significantly different then that indicates a problem .
It was 48 pulses per turn when I did my check

Hi,,, Thanks...no did not check that... it could very well be that it was not.

I had to do somthing, so open both rear bearings .. Did find som rust ,, it could be the error. I have ordered new bearings... So will try these..
And thanks for the 48 pulses tip.. I will check that when parts arrive,, and installed...

Yes a programme to run on a PC, I use an old XP laptop just for car diagnostics, and have helped others with problems and special options like one click open, enabling digital speedo etc. As the official T4 machines hardly exist in Scandinavia (and no-one knows how to use them) many owners in Sweden use this software, donate if you feel it's worth it.

Here's the home page: http://toaf.roverki.eu/index.php/en/ - you'll also need a special cable, lots of information on the MG Rover forum in the stickies.

Good luck

Connect meter, then very slowly rotate the wheel and tyre to check for the 48x switching points. A brick or similar on the ground as a position maker, mark the tyre with chalk or crayon, exactly at the switch points. Make sure the switching occurs 48 times for each revolution and through several revolutions. Just one missing, or irregular pulse is enough to cause the ABS issues.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
