Default rover 75 tourer door handles

Are they any repair tricks to repair the chrome surround of the door handles?

they are bonded to the dished backplate. I have replaced them in the past (the complete handle) and have a few sets in the shed as spares. Last one though that broke, I used a soldering iron and some cable ties to plastic weld them back together. It was easier getting my soldering iron and an old tip than finding the other handles lol.

To prevent it happening in the future, either have the anti hijack locking (speed locking) disabled by a T4/TOAF user, or cut the hands off your passengers if the dont learn to pull the handle gently twice to exit.

when I say bonded, I should have clarify, they were melted together at the tabs, if you look at the back of the handles it is obvious where and how.
