Essentially yes, for extra protection, although how exactly one would go about fitting that I couldn't say. Your car's alarm system will currently dead lock all the doors, and imobolise the engine when set. Any attempt to prize a door, bonnet or boot open will result in the alarm being triggered.

In-cabin air pressure movement detection is not covered with the standard system.

Reebs,
Doing a bit of further reading,
the pdf that Cymrudragon added recently
http://www.rover-club.net/graphics/m..._electrics.pdf
maybe you can help me further.

The 4 pins from the sensor are on page 52
1=12v
2=Earth
3=Trigger
4=Power
i have no colours for these wires yet, can you match them up?

1 and 4 look to be joined and enter pin 15 but on C0660 (page 52), the picture says C2-15, (you would think this is an abbreviation for CO662) the diagram shows C0660 (page 55)

3 goes to pin 31 also CO660 (the picture says C2-31)

I have been into CO660 before doing Raistlins Ultimate Remote and this is where all the locks are.

On your loom can you look and see how 1 and 4 are joined?

If its a simple as it looks i should be able to do it but in your diagram you chose CO662, the pdf says CO660 which is a 54 pin connector not an 18 pin, as you mentioned which is fully populated, can you cross check my findings?

Yes that is somewhat confusing isn't it.

Looking at the loom from the donor car that I was sent, starting with the 4 pin connector and referencing it to the picture in my previous post the wires are thus:

Pin 1 = Pink with Yellow trace
Pin 2 = Black
Pin 3 = Pink with Green trace
Pin 4 = Pink with Yellow trace again

Pins 1 & 4 are then bound together a little further down the loom, and result in a single Pink with Yellow trace wire which runs all the way down to the 18 pin connector and arrives at PIN 4

The Pink with Green trace wire arrives at the 18 pin block at PIN 5

There are 3 black wires entering the 18 way connector into PINS 1, 3 and 15 but with the loom so tightly bound up it's hard to trace exactly which one comes from the 4 pin end.

So according to the body electrics workbook posted by Cymrugragon - that equates to:

PIN 1 = Not used
PIN 3 = Evaporator Temperature Thermistor INPUT
PIN 4 = Air Conditioning Switch LED OUTPUT
PIN 5 = Heated Rear Window Switch LED OUTPUT
PIN 15 = Spare 2

It would appear that there must be an additional link lead then that connects to the 18 Pin connector I have, and presumably the 54 pin C0660 connector.

When I have a little more time I will dig deeper into Rave and see if I can confirm this.

any chance of a close up photo of the 18 pin connector?
is it blue?
as the 54 pin connector is made up of 3 connector blocks clipped together, could you had only a part of the 54 connector?

The ultrasonic connectors are as follows:

All wires from the sensor go to C0085/C0610 the connector at the base of the windscreen.

Pins 1 and 2 in the sensor are both earths that link and go to C0610 pin 3 then on to the earth point at the base of the A pillar.

Pin 3 in the sensor = Pink/Green which goes to
C0610 pin 5

Pin 4 in the sensor = Pink/Yellow which goes to C0610 pin 4

Depending on the year of the car the wiring pin locations may alter, depending on if you have the Black plug or the White one (same as retro fitting the self dimming mirror) but you should be able to match the wiring.

The diagrams in the workbook are hard work, better to look at the proper ones

Russ

I just got this advice from Duncan from "The Community"

According to my circuit diagrams the two wires go to connector C0660. Pins 15 and 31.

However this diagram also has a mistake as it shows two ground connections, and only one 12v. It's clearly wrong as the actual wiring has two 12v feeds and one ground.

I can see from the thread why there's confusion over connector numbering. The C2 does not refer to C0662. Remember the workbook will have been written by the Engineer who looked after the BCU(Body Control Unit), and she will have been referring to C1, C2, C3 as they are numbered on the BCU itself. Only later as the circuit diagrams for the whole car had numbers allocated, would C0660 have been assigned to connector 2 on the BCU.

C0662 seems to be for the ATC(Automatic Temperature Control) functions that the BCU looks after.

I have been advised by Duncan to use the circuit diagrams rather than the workbook, as the workbook is correct.
