DON'T buy a Classic. You can afford at least a Club SE or a higher mileage Conn/SE. £4.5-£5k with 70k miles is too much IMO. You will miss the dual zone climate control etc.

Be careful with the classic. I have a Classic SE and be aware that this has the basic spec of manual rear windows and manual on/ off air con. The Classic base has no air con at all and steel wheels. We bought with little knowledge of the specs and would have likely gone for a Club or Club SE had we been more knowledgable. That said, we are very happy with it. We have played with it and added bits and pieces to it though, but the manual air con we are stuck with. It is likely that we could possibly fit the climate system, but I suspect this would be very involved and costly and wouldn't be worth the effort. We might as well buy another car with it fitted.

That said, it is a diesel tourer and we have had no problems other than having to fit a replacement ABS sensor around 18 months ago. The car had 26000 on when we bought in May '05 and now has 54000 on.

Retail value is about £6500, and then only if it's immaculate with a good warranty. Otherwise offer a bit less. Unless you REALLY WANT IT, then you pay what it's worth to you.! Good luck.

I find it most annoying when they don't put the mileage in the advert, after all it's one of the major factors. Instead they list daft and obvious things like power steering and central locking.
Is it just to make you phone them to find out, and then they have you?

The telephone number is 0870 therefore they win from the moment you pick up the phone.
