Unhappy Not so lucky this year.

Refusal Notices
Offside rear coil spring broken (2.4.c.1a)

Advisory Notices
Rear tyre worn close to the legal limit both sides slightly worn on outer shoulders (4.1.e.1)

First time it's ever failed on anything other than a tyre.

Hi.
All three are visual checks, 10 minutes and you'd seen the issues and had them done prior to the MOT.

Indeed Walter I've come across that before, you usually can see them broken though with a torch and a mirror easily enough. It's a common issue on the 75. Most mot testers will dig deep if silly things are overlooked like bulbs out, worn wiper blades and tyres at the limit. Show a bit of effort in checking things and they usually are more helpful.

I'd have the flags out with that

Why would anyone knowingly drive on a broken spring??

Having put one of my previous 75's through successfully I was looking in all the nooks and crannies about two weeks later to discover the bottom of both rear springs broken and they had been for quite a while. Because I had the time and chance, I replaced them very quickly.

I'm not convinced a broken spring is that easy to spot if it has broken right at the bottom. I think it is something you need to look for

I'm sure you're right, but to know it had been broken for two years you'd need to have discovered the breakage then decided not to fix it for a couple of years.

Who is the member who puportedly did that?
