Default Hi line unit.

Hi,I ve a 2004 ZT-T,the system does nt work at all, there is power going to the cd player, and sat nav,the screen is black, and no orange light,if I dissconnect the battery and reconnect it ,the radio will come on for 10 seconds, but none of the buttons work, neither does the screen light up,so I cant operate anything.I ve checked the connections,I ve put a different TV module,in and a different screen, still no joy ,thanks for any help .

do you have the hi line sat nav
first check the dvd sat nav drive pull the unit out and have a look to see if there is any corrosion next behind the unit there is a earth check that there is no corrosion there or that the earth is not broken same for the video and check all the plugs if you are still having trouble if we could meet I could have a look I live in ammanford near Carmarthen I have a spare head unit and video unit that I know that work we could then fit these and see if they work on your car if not the problem is elsewhere
ps if you need wiring diagrams I have them
all the best david

You may not be aware, but that unit in the dash is simply a remote control and display for the rest of the system. In the wheel well at the rear is the audio amp + radio, TV receiver + video units. These are located under a plastic cover, behind the bumper area. If water gets into the boot as often it does, the water collects in the wheel well. It then attacks the above units.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
