I remember the Lotus Carlton. My ex boss had one from around 1991 in red as his company. I had the ordinary 2.0 GL Carlton at the time.

The Lotus was a monster of a car and a pleasure to be driven in by a boss who was young at heart.

I remember when they were launched, there was a lot of controversy over them caused by the anti car do-gooders because of how fast they were, it even got on the national news I remember
I think they topped out at 176mph..........Gary, please correct me if I'm wrong
Only ever seen them in green too.

I was at a modern classic car meet in the summer near Norwich, and there were 2 lotus carltons there.... stunning motors.

I also know of a company that is doing a complete restoration of one fairly local to me as well

They were all imperial green in colour apart from one I believe which was painted silver at the factory due to the person buying it who did not like the original colour.
