Default All kicking off in Salisbury

A Russian Defector - who was convicted in Russia of spying for MI6 - and his lady companion - are in Salisbury Hospital ITU after what looks like a deliberate poisoning that took place in the Maltings Shopping Centre.

A couple of areas in the City have been cordoned off and decontaminated by guys in full decontamination suits.

The same has had to be done at Salisbury District Hospital A&E department.

This popped up on Google earlier. Latest reports are talking about a "Fentanyl exposure" involving up to 10 people, which makes no sense at all. Fentanyl is an opioid, misused in the same way as heroin , not a Polonium-210 substitute.
Fentanyl overdose would not need cordons and men in hazmat suits.
Russian assassination or junkie overdose? Not sure yet.

The news last night said a restaurant had been closed as a precaution, made it sound as if it were food poisoning. I'm not saying it is it was just the way the news described it despite the couple being found on a bench.

I wonder how contagious the poison is? Are the precautions ott?

The Kremlin is denying any involvement but they would, wouldn't they?

The Russian State denies everything they have done wrong right up to the point when the evidence is incontrovertible! And then the squeal persecution after that.

The Russian State sponsored doping scandals prove that.

There’s long been a problem with foreign ‘activities’ on home soil (if that’s what this is). Whatever happens is shrouded in claims and counterclaims just short of ministerial accusation just in case a diplomatic incident arises.

Virtually every one of these occasions is disguised by authorities and half-truths become a base for wild exaggeration and public distrust. If there is so much danger of rocking the boat that the truth must be kept secret then the boat is unstable anyway and might just as well be sunk and a new model developed.

Like the end of the Diplomatic Bag and the reduction in the status of foreign embassies from protected territory to what it actually should be: home soil, subject to inland security, law, and scrutiny. If everyone adopted the same criteria there wouldn’t be a problem and lo, and behold, trust would break out.

I will reserve judgement until the outcome of the investigation.

Wonder how much the Russians had to do with Trumps election campaign, did they pay the $89 million for facebook and google social media campaigns?
