Apparently there is a word to describe such antisocial misfits which, mercifully, can be said in polite company. Feral. Taken to mean undomesticated, existing in a wild state, savage.
Pretty well describes a large and growing section of social media where social responsibility is no longer taught by fathers to sons. Presumably, and increasingly common, it might be due to the curious absence of two-parent families. Of course it wouldn’t do to presume it was always the father that is awol but national service would go a long way to instil basic core values whichever parent it was that chose to abdicate all responsibilities for their indiscriminate procreative feral sexploits.

They are only mindless thugs because nobody else in their lives but other mindless thugs have any influence on them. So they copy them. Like they would if they were trained in what used to be called 'growing up' under the influence of civilised parents.
The problem with trying to introduce something as altruistic as National Service is it is seen as archaic flag waving of a particularly old-fashioned mind-set and a massively expensive drain. Short sighted or what. In 2015/16 the foreign aid budget spent by DfID on ‘Official Development Assistance’ was £11.1 billion. Over half that amount went in actually running the department with execs and ‘officials’ on huge salaries and expenses! A lot of the rest was gifted to wealthy countries with appalling human rights records and even space programmes. How about assistance at home for our lost generations, one after another, in non-military but formal social responsibility paid education leading to suitable (to the students needs and abilities) employment? About £1.1 billion should more than do it. Oh, just a minute, sounds like my Apprenticeship years. But not in coffee bars, shoe shops or lawyers' offices. The difference in crime figures should provide enough evidence, both current over the last 20 years and the next 20. A substantial amount could well go to more deserving causes such as assistance to returning service personnel and after care. Young people on a, say, Youth Development Reserve could start their social training in that area and learn the truth about commitment.

Yup. The've been on less than a week and somebody bust the passenger one.
Luckily I managed to get some bullet mirrors for £30 inc postage, but still this is getting ridiculous, to the point that I've now decided to get my local councillor involved.

Have any other cars in the street had the same damage? if not then you are being targeted for some reason or another, maybe upset someone? good luck with the local council as they are much use a chocolate fire guard. The trouble is if you see the person doing the damage do you confront them in this day and age ? will they be carrying a knife who knows, it is only going to get worse because these kids if you can call them kids some are in their 20's and they will have children whom will be taught no respect for others either. There you go my little rant for the next 12 months is over

That's terrible. My goodness there are some right excrements to get a kick out of this.
Could you put a grotty but functional mirror on until this "blows over"? Or just tape it up for the moment? Take the body colour cover off for the full rat look? Maybe if it looks already damaged they will leave it alone? The worse part is if you left it like this, in case it happens again, you will probably get pulled by the police. |

This might be one of those occasions where a dash cam (secreted in the car) and aimed appropriately may be of use for once?
Or ... have a shock sensor fitted, at least you may stand a chance of catching them at it . |
