Default Symphony service mode

I have now found out how to get the Symphony HU into service mode using the MAN switch but please can anybody tell me how to progress from there?

ie how to get to (and adjust) the various functions.

I'm specifically looking at how to adjust the volume so that when I've been using the CD input at a comfortable volume I don't then get my ears assaulted when selecting radio

Thanks

Angry Symphony service mode

Paul you can't alter the volume level between radio and cd only the auto level it's really annoying when changing from cd/tape to radio , I have to say that I've never noticed the auto level working and yes Its switched on.

OK John

But it'd be nice to know how to use the service mode anyway

The Symphony service mode is accessed by switching the unit on and, within eight seconds, pressing and holding the MAN button for eight seconds. When the unit enters service mode it automatically tunes to the last used radio station.

The following features can be accessed in the service mode:

1. Serial number (SN)

2 Software version (SV)

3 AVC (auto volume control) setting (GAL setting 1 to 4 with 4 highest) use preset buttons 1 - 4 to select

5 Frequency and field strength quality (for preset stations on all wavebands) F00 weakest to F15 strongest. Use waveband and preset buttons to view

hth

Default Some confusion in How-to section

Mike,

That description concurs with my own radio. I'd just add that presets 1 and 2 changes frequency down or up a notch, while 3 and 4 scan down and up the band.

The "How-to" section doesn't seem to agree, though. It looks to me as if Harmony and Symphony service-mode instructions have been swapped, so members might find it a bit confusing. Also, the instructions given for Harmony (actually Symphony!) seem to be for a different software version (039310 is given - mine is "15-01 48"), with additional options for RDS, Regional settings and display test.

I couldn't check against the model detail pages in the Members\Data\ICE section, as the picture links just default to the home page. Now fixed.
