sounds like we,re having the same problem as you had, and will probably never find out what caused it, just hope the car keeps running,instead of cutting out

You know, what Derek said isn't a bad idea, if the cat has collapsed/blocked or something that would stop it running if it were totally blocked.

Couple more suggestions....
Main realy in the engine fuse box Fuel pump relay in the passenger compartmen fuse box. swap them with the ones from Russ's car if possible.

Tried the fuel rail pressure sensor this afternoon no joy I'm afraid.
Not enough time to strip down both cars to swap H.P. regulators today due to the difficult access. Fuel pump relay is working as it should, with the pumps both running for just less than 1 minute before shutting down as per book. I live about 40 miles away from Tim so that compilicates things a bit. The thing is it's so tantalisingly close to running, yet so far, all for the sake of what could be a very simple diagnostic test to determine the cause. (if Rover hadn't decided to make life so difficult for us all by restricting us to having to use Testbook .) Russ
