"At CES 2021, French startup MACA presented the Carcopter, a concept for a hydrogen-powered Formula 1 flying car. Yes, you read that right and the founders want to establish an entire air race around it.
Founders Thierry de Boisvilliers and Michael Krollak want to create a Formula 1 flying car competition to accelerate innovation in the eVTOL market and generate revenue from racing.
The Carcopter has built-in hydrogen tanks and fuel cells that power six 35-kW electric motors and is expected to reach flight speeds of up to 153 mph (246 km/h). If all goes well, MACA plans to launch the production model by the end of 2021 for use on various Formula One circuits around the world."

Looks very interesting and truly ambitious, so full approval for the innovation effort from me. However, the design pictured would be unable to race and stay within the confines of an F1 track. Going to need some very clever tech to get anywhere near being able to go around corners like an F1 car.

My thoughts exactly not so much a run into the gravel trap more a flight into the top tier of the grandstand

Maldonardo would have been entertaining to watch in one of these.
