Default Wet drive belt cover

Was just reading a post in the General section by postbasher ( burning smell in cabin ) where he mentions wetness on the drive belt cover / power steering .
I have had this oily wetness round the top edge of the belt cover for quite a while now , but I have the v6 not the cdt like he has . The only possible source would seem to be the power steering pump but I can find no trace of a leak on the pump /pipes . it is a very small amount of whatever fluid , but spreads out around the edge of the cover to be very visible . I have used the car with the cover removed and there was no visible trace of the fluid on any adjacent surface , including the pulley , and I have wrapped the pump body and connections in tissue for a week but the tissue remained clean
The pump is only just over a year old .
Anybody else had this , or any ideas ?
