thats exactly why I cant buy it. that and its a high mls v6 again not in its favour {from someone repairing to sell point of view} but tiss a decent buy for someone who does his own mechanics and want to build a cheap tourer, only my opinion you understand. Tam

Yeah its massive milage, thats why I thought the engine transplant would be worth while. 70k engine on ebay for anything between £200 - £400, and you have a belter of a car.

I seriously looks like its done 40k max.

Must be just me with cars though tbh, Im not one of these cheeky gets, who gets top dollar. Already lost over a grand on this. But thats life.

I sold my V6 Mono 75 a couple of years ago, that had more extras on it than ive ever heard of, all rover spec, rear tv, wireles headphones, torch set, removable tow bar, cool box arm rest etc.......

And struggled to get £1000 For it, even with only 80k on it.

Need to give up on this rover obsession I think, costing me ****** thousands :p

Im gonna drive the scrappy tomorrow, see what they offer, cos tbh I reckon a none rover specialist will value it higher than a rover one lol.

Seriously, give shipleys a go mate, I was really surprised at what it cost me to get it picked up, 150 mile or something £86!!!!!

Ive just been to the local scrappy, and theyll give me £500 as it stands, which I imagine is more than youll be wanting to pay,

Might stick steel wheels and bald tyres on before i weigh it in though.

Shame you cant cash MOT in like you can Tax

Unless you have anything i might be intersted in? Fancy a MGF or TF to play about with.

JUST NOTICED YOU ONLY DEAL IN 75/ZT's SO IGNORE THAT LAST BIT.

At a guess -
Engine £300 +300 for belts etc
Clutch £300
Labour £300
total £1200, plus car and transport £800 = £2k .
Book is approx £2k. In 3 years time Book £800, so will cost over 3 years £400 per year, not too bad for a V6 (as all the expensive bits have been done).
I think the problem is potential buyers dont have £1k handy (assuming DIY).
It would be a shame to break, but thats the ugly economic side of up-market high quality cars.

Clutch is fine, as is Gearbox.

If you find a trust worthy seller, some of the engine recently listed have stated "belts done" though i would insist on seeing receipts to back this up.

I was quote £200 Including Fluids, to take and engine out of a donor car, and fit it into this.

Yeah its a real shame that these cars are worth so little, unless in parts.

Still cant see how people are getting £3k+ for cdi's etc.... its crazy, but thats a rant for another day
