Default Locations for MEG4 DVB-T box.

I wondered where people had sited their DVB-T television boxes?

Is there a recommended position for boxes/aerials for optimum reception.

Any pic's of DVB-T box in position would be appreciated.

As mentioned Mick,

Mine is discreetly hidden under the passenger footwell on front of the Fuse Box
My Aerials are on the Passenger side windscreen in an L shape..

Same as Mark, under the glove compartment next to the fuse box.Accessible just by undoing two plastic fasteners.

I fitted mine in the wheel well and ran the a/v plus remote leads all the way to the DD at the front. I temporarily used the two supplied antennas poked into the rear window surround, pushed in to where the glass is blackened to hide them. The remote sensor lead was long enough to fit it by the rear view mirror.

My idea in fitting it at the rear was to enable me to later test the built in Hi-Line TV antannas, which I did a few weeks and found them slightly better than the supplied ones.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Yes - The DVB-T checks the signal from both antennas and uses the antenna which provides the best signal at that instant. So they need to be fitted at opposing sides of the car.

MarkUK suggested having one horizontal, one vertical like an L shape. Which would give the receiver a choice of vertical polarisation or horizontal. Main TV tranmitters are horizontally polarised and the more local low power fill in transmitters are vertically polarised. I decided to fit both of mine horizontal and at L & R corners of the rear screen. There is no solution which is best for all situations, it is a compromise.
