I've always heard Benzalkonium chloride is one of the best chemicals for removing moss and lichen from a roof - particularly slate ones.
Can be picked up quite cheaply on the internet, apply and then allow it to do its job. Results can be very long lasting so I understand.

I cleared heavy moss off the old corrigated shed roof by throwing a load of 1p and 2p coins up onto it, the copper bleeds and kills the moss..
