The pleasure was all mine mate, seriously your engine and bay look amazing and I wish all 260 owners took as much pride....looks as good as a V8 sounds if that makes sense.

DONE: HAD A CRAZY IDEA THAT I HAD TO GET RID OF MY MG ZTT DUE TO NOT HAVING A DRIVE AND HAVING TO PARK ON A BUSY STREET WITH A VIEW TO GETTING ANOTHER ONE AT A LATER DATE WHEN I HAVE A DRIVE.

ENDED UP REALISING IT REALLY ISN'T PRACTICAL NOT HAVING A CAR TO GET AROUND AND I NOW OWN A VW EOS 3.2 V6 INDIVIDUAL (1 OF 20 REMAINING IN THE UK WITH THAT ENGINE AND TRIM COMBO) EVEN THOUGH I STILL LIVE ON A BUSY ROAD WITHOUT A DRIVE

Ive often said the best engine the ZT never had was the E46 straight six.

Give me a MG ZT with the m3 e46 engine any day of the week over the v8!

IMO the best size and power to weight ratio NA engine sold for ages.

The E-series 6 cylinder was a very smooth engine for its day and well suited to the auto gearbox, which was good news especially as the first manual Princesses had an appetite for driveshafts. For me it would have to be the venerable Buick based Rover V8 I have driven a diverse range of vehicle with that engine in from Sherpa V8 personnel carrier to MG RV8 and it never ceased to disappoint. It's a shame it wasn't possible for MG Rover to fit a 4.6 version of that instead of the Mustang V8 in the 260. The sound of a V8 is hard to beat a whilst not in same category, the howl of the KV6 is pleasant on the ears

Mmm, straight six for me

I had in the mid nineties a Leyland Marina "Big Red Six"

Basically a 2.6 litre version of the E Series used in the Princess, in fore and aft coupled to a Borg Warner auto box, it could shift (in a straight line of course)

It had to be the most hair raising car to drive, with unbelievable amounts of understeer, coupled with horrendous axle tramp

Lovely
