Default any roofing guys on here ?

hi, as above, if theres any roofers on here or if anyone knows the name of this stuff then can someone please tell me what the score is with it and what it is ? - my next door neighbour had roof vents fitted last year but they also sprayed her old slate roof with something that smelled rather "bleachy"...now it doesnt look far of a new roof ! I wouldnt mind having mines done also, this isnt like the roof paints that you get, its some sort of cleaner which didnt involve a pressure washer

thanks

best thing to do would ask your neighbour for the number of the roofer in question and find out abit more that way

To kill the green moss that collects on you Sun hidden flags on the path.
You brush in a solution of bleach and water, that`s all.
You need to search for strength as I forget.

If it's a moss problem you can use a suitable copper based product.. There will be plenty at your local garden centre.
Cheers Ian

if you have moss and lichen growing on your roof then it indicates you live in a pollution free area. Neither Moss or Lichen really do any damage.

We had some Cackers round a year or two back trying to scare people that moss is invasive - it isn't.

Round here you would not be allowed to do it - in fact if you have work done Heritage England and the local Council ask you to spray yogurt or sour milk on the new work to promote growth so that the new blends in with the old as quickly as possible.

If you have a bit of moss/lichen on your roof then be pleased - you live in a clean air area.

Moss and lichen on your roof eat away at the waterproof coating of cement based tiles making them porous, brittle and reduces their lifespan. Obviously leaks are then more likely, as is the tiles being wet and freezing in winter breaking them.

Best thing for it is just scrape it off.

I wouldn't say there's moss on it to be honest, just looks dirty from years of weather and fancied getting it freshened up
