grrrrrrrrrr... :(
Just had to return from an unfinished journey due to the cars battery warning light coming on on the way out. then, having decided it was unsafe to continue I turned the car round, and, just as I got near home, the light went out again!!! ......
I have checked the car over and can find no obvious reason for the warning light, so will get the car checked at the garage in the morning, and all being well, try to make the trip again... *crosses fingers** ..... |

I had the same thing earlier this year, every light on the dashboard was on I checked the battery & only 11.2 volts showing. I took the alternator off (PITA job) & took it into the local auto electricians, He's rebuilt a few alternators for me, full rebuild & repainted £50.
When he checked it on his machine he said there's nowt to do with it He said bring the car here. I refitted it & got halfway there when all the dashboard lights came back on, I returned home. I got a local mobile auto electrician out & he found the fault in half an hour. it turned out it was some wiring the previous owner had done for the tow bar electrics spliced into the alternator feed that was shorting out

Consider yourself lucky, an occasional flickering charge light is a feature of the V8s, all down to the chewing gum and sellotape connecting the various manufacturer's electrics on them.
