Default Fuel burning heater

I retrofitted a FBH to my diesel but I can't find the five degree switch, is it only part of the factory fit? I have tried a simple switch and re-used a heated seat switch in the centre console. The problem is they only operate when the battery voltage is 13v or higher and I want to run the FBH without the engine running. I should probably get the remote.

I dot think there is a separate switch, I would have thought it part of the temperature sensor.
If you want a remote, PM Devilish.
You could go flash and start it by text message

You could manually earth one of the pins in the plug that fits into the FBH, this will start the FBH.

The 5 degree switch, is an existing thermostat mounted at the front which should be wired back to the FBH plug already for the 'auxiliary heating' mode.
I understand it puts +12v to pin 1 of the FBH
(citation required or I'll double check the wiring diagram later)

If the FBH is a 98570B model - -ve to blank pin 3 will start.

There is no switch as standard, it should fire up at temperatures below 5 deg.

I've fitted a switch to mine as I think 5 deg is actually too low, I generally turn it on manually at 10 or below, or let it do its own thing if its under 5.

I also have it wired up so I can send it a text to start up the FBH, or a different text to start up the FBH followed by the heater blower 10 mins later, and turning off after 20 mins total as to not flatten the battery.
