Big thanks for all the welcomes and info.
It is all appreciated, all of you. Noted on the fuel consumption on the V6 for towing, it’s not a problem. It’s only going to be a show car and for the occasional sunny day out. I have brand new diesel auto modern for the caravan holidays and an electric for when my gas guzzling conscience gets the better of me.... Noted on the drop-links also. I’m capable of anything mechanical and now I’ve seen T Hobbs, work on the sills, even that doesn’t scare me. I normally take the caravan to pateley bridge from thirsk for the MG show camping weekend. I’d be using the 75 for stuff like that rather than towing to Cornwall and back This looks nice, obviously MG7 rear lights, a common addition? Maybe the seals are better? I’d want to change them to standard. Thoughts on this car welcome. I’ve looked at the MOT history and I also know it is a 2.5 L https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1312660 VZZ Last edited by VZZ; 2nd March 2021 at 14:26.. |

The rear light seals are all the same, oem or MG7, makes no difference. They do split and can be repaired or replaced. |

[QUOTE=VZZ;2868604]Excellent, that’s a great start thanks. Shame the original lights are not with the car but that’s not a barrier. I believe there are members wiling in normal times to have a look at cars hundreds of miles distant, hopefully not required if I can get hold of a club known car.

Cheers for that buddy, small world innit.....
I’ll PM Parker if that is allowed. Shy boys get nothing after all... LOL. I’ve joined the club already as I’ve had a lot more than a tenners worth from this fine resource with the buyers guide and the help from you good folk on this first thread. VZZ |

I've been to Pateley Bridge show quite a few times, once with my ZT 260, as well as my MG Maestro (good show).
Let's hope we can have many events in the 2nd half of 2021! Andrew

regarding rear light seals.
There is a member who makes unsplit seals with his own machine. They are neoprene. I put a pair on not long after joining the forum and have never looked back. I think his name is Jamie, but don't quote me on that.

Thanks John and Jan. I look forward to meeting you at a show some time soon..... Lovely car, to think someone was going to scrap it is bonkers..... I’m in discussions with the vendor of P7FVE. A thoroughly decent chap, the second owner since Parker from this club. I’ve asked for a few pics of the underside and interior. The owner knows I’m serious and I think the price @ £1600 is very fair for the car. I’m sure it will be fine, it has apparently been well looked after since Parker sold it and if I get the pics showing all is ok underneath, I’ll have it. He will get pics to me when he can. Currently I’m getting transportation quotes, it’s about £420 average with a few quotes in. Trip is Portsmouth to Thirsk, about 300 miles.... I’m keen to get the best one-move service, going for the cheap option will inevitably involve several shunts around the country, something to be avoided at all costs. Apparently, competition for the car is Keen and the vendor has multiple interested parties...I’m inclined to believe him, it looks like it is worthy of much interest. If it is meant to be, it will be, if not then I’ll continue the search. Cheers Al VZZ |
