Default no clutch

hi to all
yesterday i had difficulty selecting gears took the cap off the master cylinder and there was hardly any fluid toped up and tried to bleed the clutch nothing so i toped up and pumped the pedal un till it came hard tried it and i now have a clutch later on my friend will give me a hand to bleed the clutch but i think that either the master or slave cylinder is leaking now my question is if i need to change either the master or slave cylinder is it worth buying the meatal master and slave cylinder and if i have to change the slave cylinder i will be changing the clutch what is the easiest and quickest way
